Russian Submarine mystery for AS Climate Change

Here are a few resources I made for a taster session a few months ago. It is a mystery based on why the russians planted a flag on the sea bed at the North Pole. I then related this to the Arctic resource rush. I made the video clip in photo story and added the Russian national anthem, though one of my students said this was the Soviet one. Let me know what you think! Garry

Hey, Garry - that looks great - and spot on for the new Edexcel AS Spec on Impacts of Global Warming on the Arctic.

Why don't you put a link on SLN - there's lots of Edexcel people on there too.

Just noticed you have already posted it on SLN - sorry.

Garry, that's great - the mystery approach works really well. If you have RGS-IBG membership, there's an article I recently posted there that ties in with this and could also be linked with the Edexcel A2 units - http://www.geographyinthenews.rgs.org/news/article/?id=719
