FLICKR Images

Do any other NING members have FLICKR accounts ? Here is a link to mine. You're welcome to use any pictures from my account: some relevant images for most of the 'AS' themes: not got many pictures of tsunamis and volcanoes though... If you have a Flickr account and don't mind others using your pictures, please post a link to your account on this thread.

New material on blog

Check out the blog for some new stuff on Rebranding / Unequal Spaces in relation to Cornwall http://newedexcelgeography.blogspot.com/ Spent today looking through the OUP OxBox - nice resource with VLE functionality which could be good for the department next year... Also been putting various resources in green boxes ready to create some packs, and already got booklets for the 4 topics made up from GeographyReview articles from last 8 years or so... How are other people getting on ? Study leav… Continue

End of the Pier Show ?

A very useful GUARDIAN article I read on the train home today. Results of a competition. A combination of coasts and rebranding ? The company Urban Splash is one company that I'd like to try and get in touch with and visit some of their schemes which are in various locations around the UK.

Slideshare

For those not familiar with SLIDESHARE, it is a website which allows the uploading and sharing of PPT presentations. These can be shared with colleagues, or it allows for peer marking of work by students in other schools...

Alan Doherty is a member of the SAGT committee and runs a website called GEOJUICE.

Just came across a presentation of his on SLIDESHARE which would be good for the… Continue

Quite good, thanks! Just enjoying the summer and preparing for next term. It has gotten hot here so I'm stuck going to the beach most of the time. How horrible eh? Have you been over to H.K. before? How's Norfolk?

Thanks for the welcome- I am new to Edexcel as we have previously followed the WJEC A Level syllabus so having a resource like this will be incredibly useful. I will try and post resources as we develop them - works in progress at the moment!

Thanks Alan, Im in contact with the Dubai Municpality and in particular the department in charge of coastal management. On my return back from holiday (yes we broke up on the 25th June) , I will be concentrating on putting together the unit and in particular getting together a fieldwork program that will be studying the effects of recent developments such as the Palm and the World. I will share all results and anything I put do on a blog. Unfortunately on my return I may not be able to access this site as it keeps being blocked by the Emirates Telecom company - Etisaslat. For some reason Nings are seen as a threat!! I will keep hastling them to change their mind hopefully.

Thanks Alan. The site looks great, its about time we had something like this. I'll be contributing to the crowded coasts stuff during the summer, got to sort out a field trip to Dorset.
Cheers Jon

Thank you! This looks an incredibly helpful resource. I am off to Namibia very shortly but will try to post some material on the country when I come back!
